Getting a Closer Look at Your Eyes

The details are essential when it comes to eye care. Our team recognizes the importance of accuracy and getting the diagnosis right. That’s why we offer a wide range of diagnostic tools that are paired with our comprehensive eye exams

Some of these tests are performed during your regular eye exam, while other tests may be recommended if we find anything irregular or concerning.

The Optos system simplifies retina examination by capturing a panoramic view of the back of your eye in a single, noninvasive image.

Traditional retinal exams often miss peripheral areas of the retina, but the Optos imaging system can provide a 200-degree view–about 80% of your retina. The ultra-widefield imaging is crucial in helping us detect sight-threatening diseases like glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, and macular degeneration. With early detection comes early prevention.

Visual field testing helps identify any blind spots or peripheral vision loss that may indicate the presence of glaucoma, neurological conditions, or retinal diseases. Our equipment can detect even subtle changes in vision, allowing for early treatment and better management of eye conditions

The results from these tests are used to guide treatment decisions and monitor the effectiveness of therapies over time.

Pachymetry is the measurement of corneal thickness, a key factor in evaluating eye health, particularly in relation to glaucoma risk. Thinner corneas can increase the likelihood of developing glaucoma, while thicker corneas may offer a protective effect. Using pachymetry, we can obtain precise measurements that help us determine the most appropriate course of action for each patient, whether monitoring, treatment, or surgical intervention.

Pachymetry is also helpful for assessing candidates for refractive surgery, prioritizing the safety and success of procedures like LASIK.

The Eaglet Eye is a device that takes contact lens fittings to the next level. Unlike traditional methods that measure only the central cornea, the Eaglet Eye Surface Profiler can capture over 350,000 data points across the entire eye surface, including the sclera.

It’s precison can allow for a more customized fit for specialty lenses, particularly for patients with irregular corneas or complex prescriptions.

Fundus photography captures high-resolution images of the retina, optic disc, and blood vessels so we can closely monitor changes in your eye health over time. Monitoring is particularly important for patients with conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, or hypertension.

Fundus photography allows us to compare images from different visits, helping track disease progression and adjust treatment plans accordingly. These detailed images also serve as a valuable reference point for ongoing care and consultation.

Gone are the days of the uncomfortable air-puff test! Our iCare tonometer offers a modern, gentle approach to measuring intraocular pressure (IOP), a critical factor in diagnosing glaucoma

The iCare tonometer uses a small, light probe that briefly touches the cornea to measure eye pressure. It provides quick, reliable results without the need for numbing drops or discomfort. It’s technology is especially beneficial for children, elderly patients, and those with heightened sensitivity.

Corneal topography is a diagnostic tool that maps the curvature of your cornea, providing detailed information about its shape and condition. This technology is helpful for fitting contact lenses, planning refractive surgeries like LASIK, and diagnosing corneal conditions such as keratoconus.

OCT is a noninvasive imaging technique that uses light waves to take cross-sectional pictures of your retina. OCT technology allows us to see each of the retina’s distinct layers, helping to map and measure their thickness.

Retinal measurements are critical in diagnosing and monitoring conditions like macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma.

IPL for Dry Eye & Aesthetics

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy is a versatile treatment that can address both medical and cosmetic concerns. For patients dealing with dry eye syndrome, IPL targets the meibomian glands, reducing inflammation and improving oil production to alleviate dry eye symptoms.

A noninvasive treatment, IPL is also used to address aesthetic concerns such as rosacea, sun damage, and fine lines around the eyes. By stimulating collagen production and reducing redness, IPL can rejuvenate the skin while relieving chronic dry eye discomfort.

Full-Scope Eye Care with Technology

By incorporating these technologies into our practice, we are able to offer a high level of care with an increased attention to detail. Our experienced eye care professionals will use these tools to provide accurate diagnoses, develop personalized treatment plans, and monitor your eye health over time.
